Couples, well mainly brides-to-be! , surf the net looking for real weddings to find inspiration for theirs, and most of the times they do find it. However, wedding inspiration shoots designed on purpose to inspire brides, hopefully with new ideas and styles, are the best thing a bride to be may come across.
This is why, whenever I can, I love designing and producing wedding inspiration shoots. Last October an amazing crew followed me in a new project designed for Masseria Ayroldi, an ancient fortified farmhouse in the Ostuni countryside that has been wisely renovated to be a cozy home for guests with hotel services. It is a family run business that gives you and authentic experience of Puglia lifestyle and is the perfect venue for a destination wedding.
The inspiration shoot was meant to give an exact idea of how a wedding weekend may look like, from the welcome party the day before to the chill out by the pool the day after.
Picnic areas under the centenary olive trees with farm-to-table nibbles and the best wines produced in Puglia served by WalkingWinePuglia with their Ape Car is an easy, cost-effective way to surprise your guests. Masseria Ayroldi is a big estate and there are many corners to set up the picnic area.
Sustainability is something I really care for and Stampalanatura ecological paper and botanical prints were absolutely perfect to match the style of this country wedding inspiration.
I picked a plissé wedding dress that could be vintage and contemporary at the same time, but above all different from the latest trends in bridal fashion. The dress was tailor-made on purpose for the shooting session by Idea Sposa a local atelier with its own label but also a well stocked multi-brand store. The handmade earrings are by BuongiornoPuglia a little shop in the Ostuni old town where two sisters started a successful business creating jewels and accessories with Puglia symbols, highly recommended for Puglia lovers! Make-up by Vania Tommasi, Hair style by Massimo Moro.
The groom wears Evento by Carlo Pignatelli and the bouquet and all other flower decorations are Annalori Blasi‘s creations.
I have a thing for firefly lights and this is my tribute to them as the perfect lighting for an al fresco dinner in Puglia. I know perfectly that brides love candles but let me tell you that it is always breezy in Puglia and candlesticks are a nightmare!
The cappucino rose was my inspiration for the colour palette and is-tinto textiles provided all the shades of colour I needed for the table set up while Claydes Art & Ceramic handmade dishes matched perfectly the color of cappuccino!
Either for the nearest and dearest or for all guests, chilling out by the pool with a light lunch – but lots of drinks! – is the most popular day after.
No doubts that in Puglia you can find the most amazing vendors and suppliers for your wedding, last but not least the photographers Matteo Lomonte and Federica Ariemma and the filmmakers Fabio Stanzione and Francesco Manfredi who patiently followed me in this adventure.
